Hope you had a nice Sunday. 22 people turned up, quite a nice day, no rain, but quite cool, temperatures around 5 deg C. Some beautiful views of Arthur's Seat from Musselburgh and at the top of Gilmerton. But I forgot me camera, so couldn't get a picture of one of Santa's helpers on a recumbent. I suppose reindeer will be preparing for the big day.

Soggy Ride to Mid Calder

It started rather cloudy and windy, a strong westerly made the trip out rather challenging, and the trip back exhilerating. A cloudy start to the day, plus it was also quite breezy, so a short ride today. Early rain seems to have put some people of, I don't blame them. 13 of us went to Mid Calder in West Lothian.

We went to Dunfermline, Fife, birthplace of Andrew Carnegie. Whereas the Carnegie Hall in the U.S. has plenty of culture, the Carnegie Hall plays host to The Singing Kettle. There was still a lot of greenery around, very few trees had leaves that were starting to turn. The day was very warm, so we had an indian summer trip to Fife.

It was really nice to see faces of people who’ve not been on a ride for a few months. Lovely brilliant sunny weather for the last summer ride of 2005. There were 21 people (two tandems and two recumbents) on the Spoke’s Sunday Ride to Linlithgow. Thanks to Dave for inviting us to his home in Linlithgow where we had our picnic lunch outside, and some of us raided the brambles after lunch.

11 of us had a lovely ride to Gifford in East Lothian. The weather was dry, cool to begin with, but Falside Hill warmed us up. Check the photo gallery for pictures of the ride. We haven’t been to Gifford that often, most rides normally ending at Pencaitland. This time we got to Gifford at 12:40. Pictures on the website. Hope you enjoyed the ride. I made a mistake about the owners of Lennoxlove. They are the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton.
